About Our Founder
Revised 12/25/2024
Mick is a 22-year retired U.S. Navy Mustang. He quickly advanced through the enlisted military ranks during his first 10 years in the submarine force while also obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education. The remaining 12 years were spent as a Navy Supply Corps Officer, being chosen for several very prestigious positions.
As a junior officer, Mick was appointed the most junior Commanding Officer in Naval history for a Navy Purchasing and Contracting office covering all states throughout New England. He was then called to head a training and consulting office, responsible for providing support and training for all Navy ships and shore stations in the Pacific, the Far East and Middle East. During this very active service time, Mick obtained an advanced Master’s degree in Business & Management. He also became certified as the first military Certified Food Executive by the International Food Service Executive Association (IFSEA).
After retiring from the Navy, Mick accepted the position as Director of a culinary school and 5-Star restaurant training facility for several years. The restaurant industry is extremely demanding, and he soon realized that this was not his calling.
Since that time, Mick conceived and built a very successful Pest Control business in Florida. He sold it after 10 years, at which time it was considered one of the fastest growing Pest businesses in the state. He still maintains his Florida Pest Management License.
Mick moved to North Carolina in 2010 and built a successful digital marketing company with offices in 4 different states. That business sold in 2016, at which time he entered the corporate operational arena at the age of 65 with very successful results. His portfolio included positions as Special Projects Director, Program Director, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President. His responsibilities in these positions ranged from Policy Development, Asset and Vehicle Management, Quality, Public Relations, Training, and HR. In addition, he maintained his Florida certified Pest Control Operator license, as well as becoming a North Carolina certified Wildlife Damage Control Agent.
Toward the end of 2024, Mick decided to go back into business for himself at age 73 by starting “Commemorative Flags by Precision Studios,” building custom, upscale commemorative and patriotic wooden flags and accessories, focusing on the U.S. Military, First Responders and other American patriots.
