The decision to actively give back to these heroes comes from a deep, personal place. As a retired military officer-owned and operated company, we understand the challenges and sacrifices faced by those who have served in the military and on our streets. We have always envisioned Commemorative Flags by Precision Studios as a platform that goes beyond business – one that actively contributes to the betterment of the community by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders and their families.

 

Fortunately, thousands of nonprofits and charities have emerged over the years that help support our local and national heroes. They provide crucial services to men and women who need assistance in areas such as housing, medical care, and ongoing support. These incredible organizations provide support with ongoing services aimed at making life easier for these heroes. Each organization offers essential relief to those who sacrifice so much for their country and community. Strengthening our nation’s veterans, first responders and their families through healing, reducing challenges, and overcoming obstacles is where we want to be.

STEPHEN SILLER TUNNELS TO TOWERS FOUNDATION

The foundation, named after firefighter Stephen Siller, who died on 9/11, helps ease the financial burden of fallen first responders’ families by paying off their mortgages or creating trust accounts. All donations go directly to fund this initiative. The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation was founded by Frank Siller in 2001 to honor his brother, Stephen Siller. Stephen had heroically responded to the attacks in New York City, and Frank wanted to use his brother’s story as inspiration to uplift other first responders, military veterans and their families, especially those affected by the 9/11 attacks and being committed to helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001.

 

The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifices made by military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country. Since 9/11, they have been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. They feel that:

FOLDS OF HONOR

Folds of Honor is a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships for children and spouses of fallen or disabled military servicemembers and first responders. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded approximately 44,000 educational scholarships worth over $200 million. Founded in 2007 by an F-16 fighter pilot, the charity aims to honor the sacrifices of national and local hero families by easing the financial burden of education.

 

Folds of Honor feels they have found what unites us all. They honor our heroes by empowering their immediate family members through education and the opportunities that it creates. In fact, forty-five percent of Folds of Honor scholarships are awarded to minorities, making their recipient family as diverse as the country that we call home.

 

Their team of experienced leaders are unapologetically patriotic and determined to work diligently on behalf of the families that they serve. They operate out of a love for country and sense of duty, as we all should realize our freedoms are courtesy of the 1% of Americans who’ve fought courageously to defend the 99%. The Bible says it best:

WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT

Countless brave men and women who served in recent military conflicts were injured in service or left with lasting invisible wounds, including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and debilitating brain trauma (DBT).

 

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) began in 2003 as a small, grassroots effort providing simple care and comfort items to the hospital bedsides of the first wounded service members returning home from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. As their post-service needs evolved, so have the WWP programs and services. Today, through direct programs in mental health, career counseling, and long-term rehabilitative care, along with their advocacy efforts, the lives of millions of warriors and their families have been improved.

 

They feel that this effort requires the passion and commitment of friends, supporters, and like-minded organizations that enable them to fulfill their mission. WWP strives to ensure that when those who serve come home, they are afforded every opportunity to be as successful in civilian life as they were while in the military. Remember:

The above list of nonprofit organizations that we support gives but only a taste of the organizations working so hard for our local and national heroes. Some of these organizations are small and deal with local issues, while others have nationwide recognition. But ALL serve military vets, active service members, first responders, their caregivers, and their families.
