American by Birth – Patriot by Choice

Being born an American is a matter of heritage – a gift handed down by generations who sacrificed, fought, and built this nation with grit and grace. But being a PATRIOT… that's a decision. A conscious, unwavering commitment to stand for the principles that forged this republic: liberty, honor, and duty!
Birthright citizenship is explicitly guaranteed to anyone born under the “legal jurisdiction” of the Federal government. But being a “Patriot by Choice”, suggests an individual who actively and intentionally chooses to love, support, and defend their country, rather than simply being born into or passively accepting their national identity.
In other words, a patriot, in general, is someone who loves, supports, and defends their country and its interests. But the “By Choice” inference suggests an active and conscious decision to embrace and uphold those patriotic values. It’s the difference between someone who happens to live here because they were born here, and someone who actively chooses to embrace the principles, values, and responsibilities of being an American. It speaks to deciding to stand for the flag, honor the Constitution, and defend the freedoms that define the nation – not out of habit, but out of conviction!
To say “American by Birth, Patriot by Choice”, means you're not just going through the motions of citizenship – you're choosing, every single day, to honor the flag, defend the Constitution, and respect the freedoms bought with blood and resolve. It’s more than waving Old Glory on the Fourth of July – it’s living every day by the values that the flag represents.
It’s raising your children to understand sacrifice. It’s thanking a veteran, backing the blue, and kneeling ONLY to pray. It’s knowing that freedom isn’t free – and refusing to apologize for loving this country with your whole heart.
In a time when some people tear down what others have built, a patriot stands tall. Not because they have to… but because they choose to!
Because being American is a birthright — but being a patriot is a calling!
