The Pledge of Allegiance is a patriotic recited verse that promises allegiance to the flag of the United States and the republic of the United States of America. The first version was written in 1885 by Captain George Thatcher Balch, a Union Army officer in the Civil War who later authored a book on how to teach patriotism to children in public schools. The official name of The Pledge of Allegiance was adopted in 1945.

- Fully Carved Edges
- One Color – stars, stripes and other elements carved from wood-tinted or color-stained piece – usually black, blue or red (specific color may be requested)
- Union colored Navy Blue – (other blue shade if requested)
- Front face and sides are provided a clear shellac or urethane finish – a crystal-clear epoxy finish is available for an additional $25.00
- Sealed and Weather Coated – (while they can be displayed inside or out, a sheltered location is recommended for outdoor use)
- Wall Hangers on the Back – 2 heavy duty D-rings installed for easy hanging
All our custom wooden flags are individually handcrafted and may vary slightly in appearance. They are made to showcase the beauty of the wood grain wherever possible. Each flag is its own piece of artwork, depending on species and wood-grain, so the flag you receive may not be an exact replica of what is pictured on our site.

If you would like to customize your flag, you can elect to have the flag personalized, noting the name, title, date(s), etc. (up to 2 lines and 45 total characters) for an additional charge of $40.00.
