From the rank of Ensign (O-1) to Admiral (O-10), Navy officers command respect, uphold the highest standards of integrity, and lead with unwavering resolve in peace and war alike.
Whether commanding warships, leading aviation squadrons, operating beneath the waves aboard submarines, or managing complex operations ashore, every Navy officer swears an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.
The naval officer logo is a bald eagle with wings spread wide and a gold fouled anchor, meaning an anchor with a chain wrapped around it, and a silver U.S. shield superimposed over it. The anchor signifies naval tradition and maritime authority, the fouled chain denotes challenges and readiness, and the eagle and shield represent National defense, strength, and honor. This logo is worn on the hat and uniform of U.S. Navy officers, regardless of rank.
