The U.S. Air Force logo – officially known as the "Arnold Wings" or the "Hap Arnold Emblem" – is a modern symbol introduced in 2000 that represents the heritage, mission, and future of the Air Force.

The United States Air Force Mission Statement is “To fly, fight, and win... in air, space, and cyberspace.”

The mission of the Air Force is to defend our nation through the control and exploitation of air and space. In close partnership with the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, the Air Force stands ready to fight and win America’s wars if deterrence were to fail.

To accomplish this vital mission, the Air Force brings to the fight six core competencies:

• Air and Space Superiority – securing freedom from attack and the freedom to attack if necessary.

• Global Attack – striking targets rapidly, anywhere in the world.

• Rapid Global Mobility – delivering people and equipment where they are needed, and when they are needed.

• Precision Engagement – applying selective levels of force with accuracy and minimal collateral damage.

• Information Superiority – gaining and exploiting information while denying it to our adversaries.

• Agile Combat Support – sustaining all forces with utmost speed, efficiency, and resilience.

These pillars ensure the Air Force remains “always above, always ready” – a force unmatched in its ability to protect our nation and preserve peace through strength!
